The twelfth edition of Salerno Letteratura starts on Saturday

From 15 to 22 June the city of Salerno is proposing as usual its Festival dedicated to Literature with over one hundred and forty Italian and international guests, who will offer new food for thought to the people of Salerno. The main objective of this twelfth edition, in fact, is to raise Salerno’s awareness of the right questions to ask about everyday reality and what our society will soon have to face. That is, the present and the future. Furthermore, this year the festival has decided to pay a non-ritual tribute to the figure of Franz Kafka, the German-speaking Bohemian writer, on the occasion of the centenary of his death. “The right questions” is, in fact, the theme/title of the twelfth edition of Salerno Letteratura.
This year’s festival will open on Saturday 15 June at 10.30am at the Church of Addolorata. Salerno Letteratura will give the opportunity to participate in a vast range of meetings which differ in the themes addressed: in fact, always in the same place, the post-inauguration conference with Goffredo Buccini, author of “La Repubblica sotto trial”, will deal with issues relating to justice, while the 12pm meeting with Giorgia Serughetti, author of “La Società Exists” (published by Laterza) will concern purely philosophical aspects. Subsequently, again on 15 June, other meetings will be held in the late afternoon such as the one at 6pm at Palazzo Fruscione with Natangelo, who will talk about his graphic novel “Cenere” (published by Rizzoli), or the one at 7pm again in the same place with Maria Grazia Calandrone, author of the book “Magnificent and terrible was love” (Einaudi publisher). Among the most important guests of this edition there will be Eva Cantarella, a very famous Italian historian, jurist and sociologist who deals above all with ancient society, the internationally renowned actor Roberto Latini, who boasts a long and prestigious experience in theatre, Roberto Esposito, professor of theoretical philosophy at the Scuola Normale Superiore, considered one of the reference authors of Italian Theory, and then Maurizio Ferraris, Carlo Galli, Stefano Mazzotti, Maurizio Casiraghi, Eliana Liotta, Walter Siti, the poets Ida Travi and Carmen Gallo, Massimo Carlotto, Laura Pugno, Marco Lòdoli, Antonio Franchini and Antonio Spadaro.
