The Local Police of the Valnure Valchero and Pontenure Union have intensified road checks with particular attention to the weekend. The control action concerned the obligation of vehicle insurance coverage, where seven cars found to be circulating without the required coverage were seized. Similarly, the activity concerned the required periodic inspection of vehicles, following which 53 sanctions were recorded for failure to carry out periodic inspections of trucks and cars.

The presence of patrols in the area, at times when there is a greater concentration of vehicles circulating, led to 2 motorists being sanctioned for driving while intoxicated. In the first case, a motorist was stopped on the Via Emilia in Pontenure while carrying out dangerous maneuvers and a check carried out revealed that he had a positive alcohol test, his license was therefore withdrawn and a crime report was sent to the Public Prosecutor’s Office due to the alcohol level detected.
In the second case a patrol stopped a motorist who was proceeding zigzag in the Municipality of Podenzano; also in this case the driving license was withdrawn and sent to the Prefecture of Piacenza, the vehicle owned was seized for subsequent confiscation and a crime report was sent to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Piacenza regarding the alcohol level detected.
