The eighth edition of the campaign for schools Grande!, entitled “A splendid portrait: discover the economy with works of art” ended with an ever-increasing participation of students. The BPER initiative is aimed at classes III, IV and V of primary school and has the aim of promoting financial education in schools through a recreational-training path.

In Brindisi, III A and III B of the Bozzano Centro Primary School, Via Austria complex, were the winners. In the latest initiative the intent was to explain the main elements of economics through art, using simple and colorful language, thanks to La Galleria, the Institute’s corporate collection which for the second consecutive year proposed an original look of works of art, also belonging to the BPER Banca Collection. Learning is facilitated thanks to the educational kit created in collaboration with Librì Progetti Educativi. Produced both in paper form (with eco-sustainable materials) and digitally and provided with inclusive and gender-sensitive texts, the kit includes audio tracks to allow it to be used even by boys and girls with visual disabilities and is written in a font that facilitates reading in the case of dyslexia.

The process also saw the creation of three webinars on the topics of financial education and savings to support teachers in their educational path. The videos can be viewed free of charge on the Bank’s YouTube channel.

The numbers of the Grande project! for this edition they registered the participation of over 700 schools, 1,400 classes and more than 37,000 students from 17 regions. The ten most deserving classes were selected by an interdisciplinary jury and will receive teaching materials useful in daily school activities, such as multimedia boards, library books, PCs and printers. New this year is the possibility for the first place winner to create a street art mural together with a professional writer in an educational laboratory, to bring the children’s project to life on the walls of the school.

He declares Serena Morgagni, head of the Communication Department at BPER: “We are proud of the Grande! project, with which BPER has been promoting financial education for boys and girls in primary schools for 8 years. We are happy with the increasing number of pupils involved and the feedback received is also encouraging and exciting. Combining financial education with suggestions related to the world of art and its works represented a truly important challenge, which was welcomed with great enthusiasm by teachers and children”.
