By virtue of the contents of the ministerial decree of 02.21.1996, a fruitful cooperation has been initiated for the year 2024 between the Ravenna Traffic Police section, dependent on the Bologna compartment, and the Ravenna Coast Guard, for the purposes of updating professional qualification of the military, regarding qualification in the sectoral traffic police services, normally carried out in maritime and port state-owned areas.
The expert operators of the Ravenna traffic police, directed by the Chief Commissioner Dr. Davide Pani, during the month of May, carried out targeted training modules relating to both the highway code and the related sector regulations, in favor of a suitable number of soldiers belonging to the Commands of the Maritime Compartment of Ravenna.
The teaching activity, in addition to examining the theoretical issues in depth, also saw the development of specific joint services on the road, through the provision of control posts in correspondence with the road sections of main port interest, with particular attention to the transport of people and goods, subject to specific controls.
This particular category of vehicles in fact falls within the scope of EC regulation 15/03/2006, n. 561, which regulates driving periods, breaks and rest periods for drivers, in order to harmonize the conditions of competition between different modes of land transport, as well as to improve working conditions and road safety, for which , in agreement between the Departments of the Interior and of Transport and Navigation, the collaboration of all the traffic police bodies authorized to do so is periodically implemented.
The Maritime Director of Emilia-Romagna, CV(CP) Michele MALTESE, confirmed that the qualified contribution made by the Traffic Police represented an undoubted added value for the growth of the professional skills of the operating soldiers and their periodic updating constitutes a essential assets and aid for the ordinary performance of service activities, to protect the community.
