Parole a Braccio, books and authors between Perugia and Montone

PERUGIA – The curtain has fallen on the second edition of the national literary prize and festival “Parole a Braccio”. The event, organized by the Rotary Club Fortebraccio in collaboration with the Municipality of Montone, was held between the Upper Tiber village and Perugia from 31 May to 1 June.

After the first day which took place in the San Francesco museum in Montone, on Saturday at the Arconi library in Perugia, the book “My name is Margherita” was presented with the author Ada D’Alessandro. I’ll tell you about a woman” in dialogue with the writer Lorella Marini, juror of the award, with readings by Ada Marchesini of the Circolo Laav Perugia. In the afternoon, in the provincial council room, after the presentation of the five finalists of the free narrative category, conducted by the writer Nicola Mariuccini, with readings by Lorella Marini of the Laav Perugia club and Elena Fortini of Rinoceronte Teatro. Pierluigi Vito won the “Parole a Braccio” prize for the free narrative category. The journalist from Viterbo convinced the jury, chaired by the journalist and writer Valentina Parasecolo, with the collection of short stories “A rain of small stars” (Augh! Edizioni 2023). During the two days of the Festival, which were widely attended, presentations, workshops for children, readings were held thanks to the Circolo Laav Perugia and Rinoceronte Teatro, book sales were organized by the Alibu bookshop and there was no shortage of convivial moments. The final event was the literary dinner, with a D’Annunzio menu, at the Rosetta hotel, also an opportunity for a profitable fundraiser for charitable purposes.

Satisfaction is expressed by the president of the Fortebraccio Rotary club, Nicola Farinelli and by the entire group: «Parole a Braccio is an event created entirely by volunteers. We are happy to have put together a second edition of great quality, lively and participatory, which met with the approval of the public, the finalist writers and those who volunteered to be jurors, presenters and readers.
