Terni, music regulations in clubs: managers have a say

Yesterday, 24 June, the new regulation was voted on which regulates the use of instruments, devices and sound diffusion systems in public establishments and during the performance of shows, entertainment and events. The news also concerns the venues in the center and the times in which it is allowed to play music indoors and outdoors (full details here). The act was commented as a success of the Bandecchi council by the majority of Palazzo Spada (i.e. of Alternativa Popolare), criticized by some trade associations and by some opposition representatives, but let’s see what those directly involved think, i.e. the managers of the premises.

New regulation for music: putting the venues in the center into a ‘system’

Perplexity, optimism and digs, the opinions of the managers of the clubs in the center of Terni, collected by Tuttoggi.info, are quite convergent on at least two points: the fact that the “Baravai” of “La Passeggiata” has so far enjoyed rights and possibilities higher than other venues and that the new regulation offers a new possibility to create events in the historic center and not just in the city park. Specifically, this refers to all those premises located in the areas of via Lanzi, via Fratini, via Cavour, piazza della Repubblica and corso Tacito; an area to be put ‘into a system’ also given the trend of recent times which leads towards an increasingly abandoned historic centre, deserted and devoid of stimuli for both shopkeepers and citizens, who continue to frequently report situations of degradation and danger, even during daytime hours.

The voice of the managers of the centre’s premises

“At the moment we want to wait for the regulation to be fully implemented – a manager explains to us – then we will be able to make a judgment on what the administration has produced. So, at first glance, it could be a good thing to be more competitive compared to other companies that have enjoyed greater opportunities.”

“No comment – says another – in our opinion it is a mess that will not bring any benefit to us managers of the historic center, but will perhaps serve to regulate other situations that have remained pending up to now”.

“Unfortunately we have felt abandoned for some time now – explains a third – and I’m not just talking about regulations that may be more or less fair. The problem is broader and concerns the entire industry of the historic center, not just that of us restaurant managers. Other fellow traders complain about a desolate situation that has never been seen in Terni.”

“The new regulation allows for more possibilities for downtown tradersopen all year round – here is one last comment to close – and to try to counteract, even if only minimally, the shock wave of another venue in the center that has enjoyed various rights and opportunities for some time now. We trust that the opportunity given to us is also an opening towards the creation of events that can be exploited in the streets of the historic center and not only at “La Passeggiata””.
