More hours of activity to be guaranteed, encouraging meetings, socialization and participation, representing a valid support for parenting, making books, toys and films or cartoons available through loans at home or at school. Finally, organize laboratory activities, creative paths, entertainment, parties and events, demonstrations, conferences, exhibitions and seminars relating to games and toys.
These are the needs that the new company that will win the new contract for the La Spezia civic playroom, in Via Gramsci, once a Pontremoli middle school, will have to respond to. The Municipality of La Spezia will make 501 thousand euros available and renewable for a period of 36 months.
The mayor of La Spezia Pierluigi Peracchini declares: “The Civic Ludoteca is a true point of reference for our children and teenagers. Thanks to the new tender, we will be able to expand opening hours, offering the new generations more time to play, grow and learn. This service is also an essential support for families who struggle to reconcile work commitments with their children’s free time. The playroom has an inestimable socio-cultural value; this is why we continue to invest and enhance it: we want it to always remain an open door for all children, actively contributing to the education of the citizens of the future.”
Councilor Daniela Carli declares: “The civic playroom guarantees various activities for children and teenagers, but with this new tender we are taking an important step forward to increase the opening hours from the current 50 to 60. We continue to enhance a a very popular place, where conferences, events, workshops, games and much more take place, allowing children to grow and learn while having fun, guaranteeing those fundamental rights that every child should have. I like to remember – continues councilor Carli – that this measure aims to ensure that there is equal employment opportunities between men and women, we are going to increase one of the services that we consider fundamental for families, a measure strongly supported by the Mayor and by my department aimed at ensuring that mothers can also work knowing their children are in a safe and comfortable environment. I am grateful to all those citizens who every day recognize our effort in terms of planning but also from an economic point of view for the collective good”.
The Municipality defines the service as “strategic” because it is “dedicated to the youngest segment of citizens and their families, which will have to integrate the offer of recreational, educational and cultural services aimed at children, offering an opportunity for parents who have difficulties to reconcile working hours with children’s free time”.
