A few drops of rain did not discourage the traditional Coldiretti end of school year party with children from Varese schools.
About 450 pupils from primary schools in Varese and the surrounding area gathered in the park of Villa Mirabello, above the Estense Gardens, this morning, Monday 3 June. Together they experimented, by playing, what they had learned during the year with the environmental education and sustainability educational project promoted by Coldiretti in schools.

To welcome children a dozen gaming stations carefully prepared by over 20 members of the Coldiretti youth group and women’s group, to give life to a fun educational journey to discover the shapes, smells and flavors of the products of the earth.
«Every year coldiretti meets hundreds of children and teachers in schools for contribute to the food and environmental education of the young generations who are the future consumers and, in part, the future workers of the agri-food chain to cultivate the value of sustainability and taste together with them – he said Pietro Luca Colombopresident of Coldiretti Varese who participated in the morning of the celebration together with the director of Coldiretti Varese, Rodolfo Mazzucotelli.
The children explored the smells and healing qualities of aromatic herbs, tasted nectars and discovered lots of curiosities about bees and their sweet honey. Among the most popular stations is pet therapy, in the company of two very sweet greyhounds, the milk stage and the creative workshop with sheep wool.
The councilors of the Municipality of Varese also participated in the event Rossella Dimaggio – Educational services – e Nicoletta San Martino – Environment and social sustainability – which brought the Mayor’s greeting to the children.
The Coldiretti Festival ended as usual with a snack based on Campagna Amica products, consumed all together by the participants on the large lawn of Villa Mirabello.
