Civitavecchia – The coast guard celebrated the end of the Etwinning project with over 100 children.

“The staff of the Port Authority welcomed this morning, in the magnificent setting of the Piazzale d’Armi of the Fort Michelangelo, the over 100 children of the ‘Piazzale della Gioventù 1’ nursery school of Santa Marinella and of the primary and secondary school “Via XVI Settembre” of Civitavecchia who have concluded a path of educational internationalization”, we read in the coast guard press release.

“The commander of the harbor office and maritime director of Lazio, Vascello captain Michele Castaldo and the mayor of Civitavecchia Ernesto Tedesco, greeted the many children who attended, accompanied by teachers and some parents, to celebrate the conclusion of the eTwinning project aimed at promoting multicultural exchange and collaboration in a large European community – explains the press release -. The morning opened with the engaging flag raising ceremony, with the splendid choir of small voices who emotionally sang the Italian anthem, at the end of which the commander of the Civitavecchia port authority underlined the closeness of the CAI guard for the youngest and the importance of raising awareness of maritime culture, the protection of the environment and water as a precious and irreplaceable resource”.

“’The teaching of civic education is also transmitted through these exciting and contextually educational moments’ – said Mayor Ernesto Tedesco – adds the statement -. Commander Michele Castaldo instead underlined how ‘The men and women of the coast guard are and will always be active and involved in bringing future generations closer to a common feeling of European citizenship and environmental issues’.

“The laudable initiative, conceived by the project coordinator Professor Elisa Delle Fave, then developed with the amusing singing interventions that the students prepared to celebrate the conclusion of the project, performed under the precious coordination of the school managers and teachers who, in closing they appreciated the affectionate welcome and helpfulness received”, concludes the note.
