June 11, 1995 Jean Alesi celebrated his 31st birthday in the best way possible in Canadaachieving his first (and last) victory in Formula 1 and a tribute from Michael Schumacher.
Alesi finally ahead of everyone, but it will be the only time
The French driver realized his dream of winning an F1 race in his own right seventh season of his careerthe fifth in Ferrari.
Well yes, that 11th June 1995, Jean drove the Red in a masterly mannerwhich allowed him to finally celebrate a success in the premier class of motorsport.
Alesi certainly celebrated that success, and also in a rather particular way: it remained without fuel on the return lap at the end of the race, the Cavallino driver he boarded Michael Schumacher’s Benettonallowing himself a moment of glory that can only be defined with the adjective “triumphant”.
A moment that will remain well imprinted in his memory, just like that victory that will be later the only one of his long career in Formula 1.
A career in which Jean he failed to leave his mark as he would have liked; especially at home, where the comparison with compatriot Alain Prost he left him no escape.
Despite everything, however, no one will be able to take that away from him fantastic success in Canada in 1995accompanied by the tribute of a champion like Schumacher.
