A case of Dengue has been recorded in the city

After the one in Ravenna, a case of Dengue in Cervia. Case that was reported to the Public Health Service; involved a person resident in Cervia who returned to Italy from abroad. This was announced by the ASL Romagna. Dengue is a very widespread viral disease in some tropical countries, which is transmitted through the bite of mosquitoes belonging to the Aedes genus (such as “tiger mosquitoes”) and in the classic form manifests itself with high fever, headache, joint and muscle pain and more or less serious hemorrhages. As a precaution, the Municipality of Cervia, on the recommendation of the Public Health Service of the Local Health Authority, has scheduled the execution by specialized operators of an extraordinary disinfestation intervention within a radius of 100 meters from the home of the person diagnosed with the disease . This is an intervention foreseen by the regional plan for the surveillance and control of arboviruses.

Adulticidal treatments will therefore be carried out in public areas with a pyrethroid-based product to kill the adult mosquitoes present, to be repeated for three consecutive days in the early hours of the morning. At the same time, during these days, anti-larval treatments will be carried out in manholes, road drains and also on private properties through “door-to-door” interventions. The Local Health Authority recalls some useful suggestions for protecting yourself from mosquito bites.

Among these, the Romagna health company specifies, ‘do not wear dark-colored clothes and prefer light-colored clothing that does not leave parts of the body exposed (shirts with long sleeves and long trousers); avoid perfumes, creams and aftershave, which easily attract insects; protect yourself with skin repellents for topical use.
