PESCARA. “Io ciprovo” comes to life inside the “La Casa di Michele” autism rehabilitation center in L’Aquila.
The documentary film will be screened this afternoon, starting at 6 pm, at the Sant’Andrea cinema in Pescara; presenting it, the “Fulvio Luciani” School of Culture and Art association, the “Let’s work together” social cooperative and the PescarAbruzzo Foundation. Conceived by the psychologist Rosario Sabelli and the filmmaker and journalist Francesco Paolucci, who also directed it, “Io ciprovo” tells the story of autism through the story of five boys. There is Antonello who – we read in the presentation notes – «feels the weight of responsibilities, goes to the gym and knows well what his objectives are. One of these is getting your driving license, which then also means becoming great in everyone’s eyes.”
There are Francesco and Denis: the first dreams of working as a voice actor, the second “tattoos his skin, has a passion for cooking and plays the electric guitar”. There is Adis, who knows how to repair computers and loves working as a sound engineer in a small web radio. Finally, there is another Francis, «who always says: “My body is made of one hundred percent salt sea water”. He knows how to drive the boat and often does so by going towards the waves. Maybe he is the sea.” What do these five young people have in common? «Definitely the desire to make your dreams come true, despite everything». The docufilm also sees the friendly participation of Andrea Lo Cicero. “Io ci prova” is produced by the social cooperative “We work together” – which has managed the rehabilitation center since 2014 – together with Kerato film. “Michele’s house” is a semi-residential structure with the availability to take on 25 users who carry out the rehabilitation process inside and another 25 who carry out external projects.
