TREVISO – Un hooded boy he cycled past the school, threw a firecracker in the yard and moments later he heard it explode a short distance from the children. This is what happened on Thursday afternoon at the school De Amicis elementary school in the historic center of Treviso, among other things the headquarters of the Serena comprehensive institute. A reckless gesture, without justification, which could also have had tragic consequences. Luckily the bang didn’t end right among the students. And no one had time to get close. In addition to the fear of the‘unexpected explosion, no one got hurt. But now the hunt is on for those who found nothing better to do than voluntarily throw a firecracker where there were children.

The identikit

It is not easy. The boy had covered his head by raising his hood, and then pressed on the pedals. According to reports, it is a young man with a blond tuft who has been there for a few minutes he rode his bike between via Caccianiga and viale D’Alviano. The school immediately called local police of Treviso. And the agents carried out a inspection to start collecting useful elements. «A hooded boy riding a bike threw a firecracker in the De Amicis courtyard. Fortunately the children were far away and, fear aside, no one was hurt – explains Alessia Quadrini, principal of the Serena comprehensive school – I called the local police, who immediately intervened and carried out an inspection. From the details we have, however, it will be difficult to trace the culprit.”

The cameras

However, no stone is left unturned. Help could come from video surveillance cameras active in the De Amicis area. Some electronic eyes may have intercepted the passage of the boy with the blond tuft. It is not an element that alone can make a difference. But at least there is a starting point. Despite the actions to stem the baby gangUnfortunately, the decidedly over-the-top behavior, to put it mildly, adopted by some young people does not stop. Only the day before yesterday the police reported five minors, children between 13 and 16 years old, most of them already known for acts of bullying and various assaults, accused of having robbed peers in the center of Treviso. And since the beginning of the year, a total of 21 have been referred to the Juvenile Prosecutor’s Office for the same reasons. We are also trying to take action with specific projects to limit school dropout, i.e. the number of children who leave school early and risk ending up adrift. This is also the aim of the new reorientation desk launched by the Besta institute in Borgo Cavour for all the city’s high schools. Educators and psychologists will be available to children who have had difficulties in the transition from eighth grade to ninth grade, as well as their families, to help them choose another study path, thus removing the possibility that they will no longer find their path.
