Pratola Serra
We receive and publish the note from the former mayor of Pratola Serra following the conclusion of the investigation by the Public Prosecutors of Naples and Avellino.
“The undersigned Anthony Aufiero, in relation to the articles and the strong resonance that this story is having, he intends to express his profound astonishment and also regret in seeing such and similar accusatory hypotheses contested, being totally extraneous to the hypothesized facts, having never and it is emphasized never “taken, asked or received a single euro” or other utility in the administration of public affairs.
This is not the first time that accusations have been made against the writer for his activity as administrator of his town, which as is well known have all and “I repeat all” ended with acquittals, demonstrating the groundlessness of the hypotheses of the contested crimes.
Without prejudice to the foregoing, however, the utmost confidence is expressed in the work of the bodies of the Avellino and Neapolitan judiciary whose qualities of impartiality and balance I have the honor of knowing, which have always characterized their work, to which – as always done – we offer the most total and unconditional availability.
I represent that I have appointed the lawyer Teodoro Reppucci, in order to prepare all the defense activities to demonstrate the writer’s total non-involvement in the hypothesized disputes”.
