The Municipality of Naples is ready to become a civil party during the trial of the alleged murderers of Green Jasmine, the girl killed twenty years ago in Secondigliano, in the initial phase of the Scampia feud. Gup Marco Giordanofirst hearing for the accused Luigi De Lucia and Pasquale Rinaldithere is an initial hitch related to a notification defect.

The hearing was postponed to June, but this morning (Wednesday 22 May) there were potential offended parties ready to request the formation of civil parties. In the courtroom, the lawyer Liana Nestawhich represents the family of the girl killed at the hands of the Di Lauros in November 2004, but also the lawyers of the Municipality of Naples, ready to take civil action, in an affair that represented an indisputable vulnerability for the city of Naples itself. Among the offended parties indicated by the Naples Prosecutor’s Office, in addition to Mina’s relatives, also the other local authorities and the Presidency of the Council itself.

The hearing is in June. Defended, among others, by the lawyer Claudio Davino, all the defendants will have the opportunity to respond to the accusations during the proceedings. A heartbreaking story, that of Mina. The girl was lured into a trap by the group she led Ugo De Luciaright arm of Cosimo Di Lauro. She was interrogated herself, in an attempt to find out the den of the splinterists, in particular those of the family of Gennaro Notturno, who had given rise to the split from Di Lauro for the management of drug trafficking. Twenty years later, despite the investigations which culminated in the final conviction of Ugo De Lucia, Mina Verde is not yet considered a victim of the Camorra, to the point of pushing the lawyer Nesta to turn to the constitutional court, against an administrative provision which excluded the affair of Mina Verde from the cases of innocent victims of the Camorra. According to the request for civil action, the Verde family (represented in the courtroom by the girl’s mother) suffered indelible damage due to the havoc caused by the killers on Mina’s body. The girl was interrogated, tortured, killed. Her body set on fire.
