TAGLIACOZZO (AQ) – Five pupils of non-European nationality, students of the “Andrea Argoli” technical economic institute in Tagliacozzo, visited the city post office in Viale dei Giardini this morning.
The initiative is part of the program of the Italian L2 course aimed at NAI students (foreign students newly arrived in Italy), held by the teacher Gina Lullo, which includes hours of itinerant learning carried out outside the school.
Welcomed by the director of the post office Maria Teresa Palleschi and all the staff, the children were accompanied on a learning journey on the most common activities that take place in a post office: from shipments to payments, from financial instruments to operations via ATM Postamat , up to savings products and remote operations via App.
There were many ideas for the students of the Argoli Institute who interacted with the staff asking for further details and information on the services and products and directly experimenting with some operations, such as booking a shift at the counter using their smartphone.
“I thank you, also on behalf of my students – commented Professor Gina Lullo – the very kind staff of the Tagliacozzo post office. All the kids were enthusiastic about the visit, a student who had just left even wanted to download her app which will allow her grandmother not to have to queue when she goes to collect her pension. This traveling teaching experiment, also created to show students our small town and encourage daily communication, is proving to be a useful socialization tool that makes the group more friends and more united, breaks down barriers and is helping the kids to enrich their lexical mastery and to feel part of a new community that is welcoming them with great emotional enthusiasm”.
Through this initiative, Poste Italiane reaffirms its role as a point of reference within communities and as a widespread actor at the service of citizens.
