Full stop. The push and pull continues between the MIUR (Ministry of Education) and the Municipality of Monte Cremasco, which scores a point in its favor. At stake is a 3.2 million loan to build a school. Yesterday the opinion of the TAR of Lazio arrived, to which the mayor Giuseppe Lupo Stanghellini (in the photo), who is a lawyer by profession, had appealed after the MIUR had denied him the financing, free of charge because it was taken from the Pnrr , to build a school in the village, to replace the current one, which is over 60 years old. The Lazio Regional Administrative Court agrees with the mayor and says that he has the right to that funding.

We now await what the ministry will do: there is no longer any money for these operations, as it has all been distributed. But, as the TAR ruled, Monte Cremasco is also entitled to it. The point of contention is precisely the old school. To obtain the requested 3.2 million it was necessary to present a project that involved its demolition, which the Municipality had done. But when the MIUR released the ranking, Monte Cremasco did not appear on the list. In 2022 the mayor asks for the reasons for the exclusion: the Municipality cannot get the money because the canteen remains standing in the plan to demolish the old school. The mayor points out that the canteen is detached from the school building and is not contemporary. So it has nothing to do with it. In August 2022 the first appeal was presented before the Lazio Regional Administrative Court, which in September 2022 agreed with the Municipality, and then in October last year the same Regional Administrative Court urged the State to pay. But there is nothing to be done, because the State does not want to adhere to the sentence and reiterates it in December.

Hence the new appeal by Mayor Stanghellini, who yesterday was right once again: the municipality of Monte Cremasco has the right to obtain the 3.2 million euros for the school. But, as reiterated, there is no more money. So? “We start again from the beginning – says the mayor, reconfirmed this week at the helm of his country –. We certainly won’t give up”.
