Arezzo, 18 June 2024 – Arezzo is ready to experience a long evening between sunset and the stars appearing. Thanks to “Summer Aperitif”, the event dedicated to taste scheduled for Tuesday 25 June, from 6pm to 11pm, in the lawn of the suggestive Medici Fortress.
The initiative, which is five years old and is promoted by Confcommercio Firenze e Arezzo with the patronage of the Municipality of Arezzo and the Arezzo-Siena Chamber of Commerce and the technical collaboration of the Guido d’Arezzo Foundation, is part of the twelfth edition of Toscana Rainbow of Summer, the successful event promoted by the Tuscany Region and La Nazione, together with Toscana Promozione Turistica and Fondazione Sistema Toscana, to celebrate the start of the summer. An event that involves the entire regional territory with a real tour of events that will begin on June 19th in Florence and will end on the 25th in Arezzo.
The Arezzo stage of Arcobaleno d’Estate, hosted in the sixteenth-century fortress built by the Medici family, offers an evening full of live music, guided tours and food and wine proposals, with many Arezzo restaurateurs, pastry chefs and bar tenders who will bring their tip. It will therefore be another opportunity to celebrate the culinary and cultural excellence of Tuscany.
The Summer Aperitif program was presented today (Tuesday 18 June) at a press conference in the presence of the director of Confcommercio Toscana Franco Marinoni, the deputy mayor of the Municipality of Arezzo Lucia Tanti, the head of the La Nazione di Arezzo service Federico D’Ascoli, the director of the Guido d’Arezzo Foundation Lorenzo Cinatti and the operators who will participate in the evening.

There are many sweet and savory delicacies that can be tasted while walking among the stands, creating a traditional “rainbow menu”. Costs: from 2.50 euros for some types of desserts to 7 euros for first courses and second courses. From hot focaccias with mortadella or raw ham, to casarecce with octopus ragù, Fassona tartare and roast beef, then pulled wild pork, traditional Arezzo desserts such as gatò or grandmother’s cake, not to mention tarts and cantucci. There will also be some exotic dishes, such as vegetarian currymadras or salmon temaki, or the now classic “pulled pork burger”. There will be no shortage of gluten-free options for celiacs, with specialties such as cuddles filled with mortadella, burrata and raw ham, and chocolate desserts. Cocktails, local wines and bubbles, and agricultural craft beer will complete the offer, creating a perfect combination for an evening under the stars. For the occasion, the Medici Fortress will extraordinarily open its premises for guided tours by Confcommercio tourist guides. Live music also enlivened the evening, with a band of over 10 elements on stage, including the voice of Deb Jones, Alberto Mannatrizio on sax, four dancers, two DJs, a percussionist and a guitarist. A performance not to be missed, enriched by splendid choreography.
