The absence of the Keshet Jewish community: “We feel betrayed and abandoned”

Pride on Saturday afternoon in Rome it is a human tide, cheerful and composed, but there is a discordant note that hovers over the procession, above the notes of the float dedicated to Raffaella Carrà: the absence of the LGBT Jewish community. The main Keshet organization deserted the march for fear of attacks: “We feel betrayed and abandoned by the community.” In the procession, in fact, they are parading with anti-Israel banners. Accompanying the colorful procession was a message from Elly Schlein, the secretary of the Democratic Party: “We will continue to defend rights, even if yet another opportunity was missed at the G7.” And here for rights the voice is raised loudly, a chorus that demands the freedom to be oneself, to have families that are not necessarily traditional ones. Not by chance the procession opens with the rainbow families’ float, full of children, full of requests: they simply ask for the same rights for their children as all other children. There are also wagons bondage and those kinky, recent purchases from the LGBTQ community, want to be protected in their extreme sexual practice, to protect themselves from diseases. + Europa provokes: «Free fagothood in a free State», while the notes of Sincerely still echo throughout the procession: Annalisa sang her song when everyone still had to march. Godmother of the event, she thus “blessed” the tide from the official float, that of Roma Pride. By mid-afternoon everything had just begun.
