PESCARA. No white smoke yesterday, still negotiations on the corporate front and a stalemate on the coaching issue. The choice of coach will depend on the budget available and president Daniele Sebastiani has taken further time to decide.
The society. In these hours we are awaiting the announcement of the entry of Rosettano Navarra, former member of Pontedera. Rumors speak of details to be ironed out on the percentage of the shares, the amounts to be paid and any managers who could accompany the Ciociaro entrepreneur. Initially there was talk of 20% of shares for a value ranging between one and a half million and two million. A further conversation between Sebastiani and Navarra was scheduled for late yesterday evening. Any moment can be a good one for white smoke but surprises, even sensational ones, are not excluded. Sebastiani could secretly continue to speak with representatives of foreign funds to have further resources available. The Germans, for example, were interested in Pescara but would only inject fresh money from next season. Negotiations are continuing.
Operational meeting. Meanwhile, between the weekend and the beginning of next week, Pescara president Sebastiani will take stock of the situation with sporting director Daniele Delli Carri. Time is starting to run out and we need to lay the foundations for next season. Sebastiani has repeatedly stated that, if he were to remain alone, he would opt for an emerging coach and an even younger team. The name of the technician has been identified, in case of plan B, as Ledian Memushaj. But if the Pescara president had had the feeling that he alone could remain, he would have already put pen to paper with the former blue and white captain. And then the coaching puzzle starts to become difficult to solve, both because of the tight-lipped company and because so many candidates have found a team.
Attilio Tesser. The name that remains most popular in the square and that would restore enthusiasm and impetus is that of Attilio Tesser. But since Delli Carri asked the former Cremonese player to wait for corporate developments there have been no further discussions. Pescara and Tesser like each other, there has been talk of a two-year contract and a list of players has been made. When will Tesser’s phone ring again? As soon as the budget is defined with important money to build the team as Tesser likes. An effort that president Sebastiani would like to make for various reasons: to bring Pescara back to Serie B, to try to rekindle enthusiasm and to take advantage of what, on paper, will be a group B without “championship-killing” teams. But Sebastiani will not derogate: it will only be an ambitious team if financial coverage is guaranteed. The solidity of the company will not be put at risk.
The alternatives. Massimo Brambilla is the object of desire for many clubs: Catanzaro and Cosenza in B, Spal in C. It is the name that Daniele Sebastiani likes the most but the same thing applies to Tesser: we first need clarity on the club and the budget. Viali will replace Nesta in Reggio Emilia and therefore at the moment no B for Caserta who remains among the names that can be used for Pescara.
