“I dreamed of an experience like this” – iVolley Magazine

Emma Villas Siena has announced the purchase of spiker Matteo Alpini. Born in 2001, he comes from Kabel Volley Prato where the volleyball player first went through the youth sector until he reached the first team. Born in Prato, he is 196 centimeters tall.

Last season Alpini played in the Prato team that played in the Serie B championship and played a double role, both as spiker and opposite. Among other things, he was the best spiker in the championship in terms of statistics relating to performance and points scored.

Alpini was viewed by the company and the Sienese technical staff. He also took part in the training carried out at PalaEstra at the end of the season together with other interesting young prospects. Now the transfer to the Sienese club has materialized for him, he will therefore play for Emma Villas Siena next season in Serie A2.

“I dreamed of an experience like this – these are Matteo Alpini’s first words as a player for Emma Villas Siena. – I trained at PalaEstra at the end of the season, it was an important day for me and I tried to present myself at my best. I immediately had good feelings, and now I am happy to be able to play in Siena and to be coached by coach Gianluca Graziosi. I believe that he is a coach with excellent qualities, and throughout his career he has also always shown that he knows how to work very well with young people. Already in the training I did at PalaEstra he gave me a lot of useful advice on how to improve.”

Alpini will therefore get to play in Serie A2. “For me it will certainly be stimulating and exciting to play in this category – these are his declarations. – I will go to train with players of great experience and excellent quality. I have always seen volleyball players like Gabriele Nelli and Luigi Randazzo on television, now I will be their teammate. This year I followed the A2 series tournament, I also watched many Siena matches. I saw a gritty and motivated team. Emma Villas has reached the playoff final, I hope that the same objective can be achieved next season too.”
