The robe strike against the constitutional reform of justice wanted by Minister Nordio will be done, sooner or later. The president of the National Association of Magistrates, Giuseppe Santalucia, confirms the initiative promoted by the category it represents by opening the central steering committee. The initiatives to be implemented against the government do not yet have a precise timetable, but the head of the ANM assures that the abstention from work will take place when it is necessary to vehemently raise the voice against the separation of careers.
It is in fact programmed “acollective action” not only of the central body of the Association, “but of all the territorial sections to explain, communicate in every place, with every method permitted by our being magistrates, the reasons for the opposition to a reform that does not solve any of the problems that justice has today“. Indeed, it would make them worse, “decreasing the independence and autonomy of the judiciary, which does not provide a good service to citizens“.
“When needed, will be put in place, it will have to be a driving force of our communication capacity. One day, two or three, all those that will be needed when they are needed“, declares Santalucia. Two days ago the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, signed the authorization for the presentation in Parliament of the constitutional bill drawn up by the government after more than two weeks of waiting. The initiative promoted today could now even be interpreted as a slight to the Head of State, who has carried out a very thorough technical evaluation to exclude the existence of obvious profiles of unconstitutionality.
