Bayern Munich’s victory over Arsenal, in the return match of the Champions League quarter-finals (1-0 thanks to a goal by Kimmich), opened the doors to the semi-final for the Germans (where they will face Real Madrid, who defeated Manchester City on penalties) and allowed the Germany to further shorten the distances with Italy in UEFA rankings which guarantees the two federations with the best results 5th place at the next edition of the Champions.
Updated UEFA ranking: Germany closer to Italy
Germany has indeed caught up 17,642 points, compared to 18,428 in Italy. There is another German club involved in the Europa League: Bayer Leverkusen, who will face West Ham. England currently occupies third position in the table. For Italy, Roma, Milan (engaged in a direct clash), Atalanta and Fiorentina will take to the field this evening.
