The new venue of the event, usually hosted in Piazza San Secondo, will therefore see the tests take on great importance.
They will take place in the two weeks preceding the competition and will be essential for the competing groups to enter into symbiosis with the new square and find within it the reference points and the right distances to get the best from the prepared exercises.
In the Palio there will be two banners, one for the best flag-waving group and another for the musicians, both painted by students of the “Benedetto Alfieri” art school.

In 2023 San Lazzaro won (photo) both in the ranking reserved for flag-wavers (second San Pietro and third Don Bosco) and in that of musicians (second Santa Caterina and third the Cathedral).
This year too there will be a FISB jury. (Italian Federation of Flag-Wavers) to draw up the rankings and decide the winners. In addition to the two Drappi, as has been the case for some years now, a special prize offered by the Panathlon Club of Asti, a service club that promotes and supports the values of sport, will be awarded.

The prize will be awarded by a jury of experts to the group that represents the best choreography and will be able to convey the most intense emotions during their exercise.
The winner of the 2023 edition was the Palio Don Bosco Committee group.
If rain prevents the race from taking place on the evening of Saturday 11th, it will be held on Sunday 12th May, at 11am.
