violence and hooliganism invade the streets – BarlettaLive.it

In the middle of the night, when the silent streets should offer peace and tranquility, the 167 area once again finds itself at the center of an unprecedented escalation of violence and hooliganism. The 167 Committee launches a vibrant appeal, a cry of extreme alarm, yet another appeal, to the community and the competent authorities in the face of the growing wave of violent actions plaguing the area.

A Situation Out of Control. The reports received by the 167 Committee paint a disturbing picture of a community plagued by crime and instability. Acts of hooliganism have intensified, with incidents of vandalism, physical attacks and intimidation occurring with increasing frequency. Residents are forced to live in the shadow of fear, with their peace of mind and safety at risk.

The 167 Committee, faced with the gravity of the situation, issues an appeal for help to the community as a whole and also invites residents to be vigilant, in solidarity and to unite in the fight against the spread of violence. Collaboration between neighbors and sharing crucial information may be the key to combating this crime wave and restoring safety to the streets they call home.

Given the extreme gravity of the situation, we make an extreme appeal to the competent authorities to take concrete and immediate measures to address this growing problem. We ask for an increase in the presence of police forces on the streets, more frequent patrols and a decisive and timely response to reports of suspicious activity or crimes in progress.

Once again we relaunch the need to make concrete the memorandum of understanding stipulated by the then Extraordinary Commissioner Alecci and the Prefecture of Barletta-Andria-Trani, relating to “Neighborhood Control”, requested on several occasions by citizens and never taken into consideration .
We reserve the right, however, to submit a formal complaint to the bodies responsible for protecting the safety of citizens. Only with a joint commitment between the city community and institutions can we hope to stem this dangerous spiral of violence.
