The city of Agrigento it will be the only Sicilian capital to host the first “National Prevention Day” organized by the Scientific Society of Hospital Internists (FADOI) and the National Association of Medical Nurses (ANìMO).
The event, sponsored by the Provincial Health Authority of Agrigento, will take place next Saturday, April 20, from 10.00 to 17.00, and will involve doctors and nurses from the internal medicine departments of the hospitals in this province, to carry out screening and counseling for the prevention of cardiovascular and metabolic diseases.
The general idea is to promote the culture of prevention as a fundamental “weapon” to prevent the onset of the main chronic pathologies and for this reason internal medicine doctors intend to raise awareness among the population precisely on prevention and on the risks that a wrong style of life brings with it.
It will not be necessary to book but simply go to Piazza Cavour in Agrigento to undergo a free screening and be evaluated by a doctor.
The initiative is sponsored not only by the ASP of Agrigento, but also by the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, the Sicilian Region, the Italian Red Cross, Gender Medicine, the Municipality and the Medical Association of Agrigento.
