FALCONARA – Volotea, the low-cost airline for small and medium-sized European cities, takes to the runway in Ancona with a new connection: from next November 8th you will be able to fly to Barcelona.

The new route includes two frequencies per week – on Mondays and Fridays – and an offer of more than 9,000 seats for sale.

With this direct connection to Spain, the carrier expands its offer for 2024 at the Marche airport, with 7 destinations available and a total offer of over 170 thousand seats for sale. For Ancona it involves the restoration of the connection, after that, cut after a few months, by Aeroitalia (which then gave up territorial continuity flights from the Marche airport to Rome, Milan and Naples).

“We are very happy to enrich our proposal, helping to generate new tourist flows and making the city of Ancona and the entire local area increasingly connected with the main European destinations” says Valeria Rebasti, International Market Director of Volotea, recalling that from next year the connection with Athens will take off in June.

The CEO of Ancona International Airport Alexander D’Orsogna recalls that Volotea’s flights to Athens and Barcelona add to the “great success of the first international route launched by Volotea last May, Paris Orly”.

For 2024 there are 7 Volotea connections available from Ancona: 4 in Italy (Cagliari, Catania, Olbia and Palermo), 1 in Greece (Athens, new for 2024), 1 in France (Paris Orly) and 1 in Spain (Barcelona, new 2024). All flights are on sale on the website www.volotea.com and in travel agencies.
