Stroll leaves, shock decision in Formula 1: fans speechless

In Formula One we are often used to news bordering on the shocking, but Stroll’s decision is truly unexpected

Unfortunately, considering the dominance that Max Verstappen and Red Bull continue to bring to the track – if we exclude Ferrari’s magical performance in Australia – it is really difficult to concentrate on the spectacle of the Formula One World Championship this year. However, it can very well be said that outside of the races the tension always remains very high.

Not only because the remaining 9 teams are trying to find the right solutions to really put Red Bull in difficulty in terms of the championship, but also because there is a lot of sensational news – in one way or another.

Only in 2024 did we enjoy the announcement of Lewis Hamilton joining Ferrari – defined by many as the ‘coup of the century’ – and the Horner case, without forgetting the very uncertain future position of some prominent figures such as Max Verstappen, Helmut Marko and Adrian Newey . Now another speculation is added, which concerns the Aston Martin team.

Formula One, incredible news: what it’s about

Bloomberg really reported some significant news to say the least. Lawrence Strollowner of the Aston Martin team and father of the driver Lance, could sell another minority stake. After selling part of it to the Americans of Arctos Partners, the Canadian entrepreneur is in negotiations to sell up to 25% of the team to capitalize on the growing popularity of F1. We are only at the beginning of the dialogue, but it seems that the possibility of concluding the deal is anything but far from reality.

Stroll’s objective is to improve the economic valuation he had achieved with the agreement completed with Arctos Partners: we are talking about 1.14 billion euros. A spokesperson for the team explained that “the team is contacted by interested parties, especially after the investment from Arctos Partners”. The attraction linked to Aston Martin is quickly explained: Fernando Alonso will remain in the team at least until 2026, the year of the start of the collaboration between the British team and the Honda engine manufacturer.

More than enough reasons to give confidence on and off the track to a brand that has grown so much in recent years. The former Racing Point is working more and more to constantly fight for the drivers’ and constructors’ championships. The road is still very long, but it is clear that everything that revolves around the team does nothing but increase confidence in the potential and ambitions of a team that last year was the second force in the championship for a long time.
