construction sites from the Polivalente to San Pasquale

Over 40 million euros with Pnrr funds to modernize several high schools in Bari: seismic adaptation, energy efficiency and extraordinary maintenance works will begin shortly in various institutes managed by the Metropolitan City, thanks to funding from Europe. The interventions, as envisaged by the Plan, must be completed by 2026.

A few days ago, construction sites costing over 13 million euros began to completely redo the Romanazzi Institute, intended to house a modern and functional building. Numerous works are expected at the Japigia Polyvalent Complex: the projects foresee, already in early May, the start of the redevelopment, worth around 6 million euros, of the ‘Euclide-Caracciolo’ Institute, in particular of the ‘Dioguardi’ complex. The construction site, the metropolitan councilor for School Buildings, Marco Bronzini, explains to BariToday, should be delivered on May 6: “We will proceed – he says – through 4 blocks of work, starting with the gym. Then, gradually, the others will be redeveloped three. There will be no transfers of students because we will be able to use free classrooms as a ‘buffer’.”

Also in Japigia, in the coming months, similar interventions will concern two other schools, namely the ‘Lenoci’ Institute and the ‘Salvemini’ Scientific High School, with construction costs between 5 and 6 million euros. Details also include the redevelopment of the ‘Marconi-Hack’ (7 million euros), the ‘Giulio Cesare’ in Viale Einaudi and the ‘Panetti’ gym: “We are waiting – says Bronzini – for the validations and as soon as they are available we will start with the construction sites involved. Overall, this is a very demanding activity which will involve numerous schools. We imagine it could create temporary inconvenience but these are economic opportunities that we could not miss to redevelop the school buildings in Bari.” concluded Bronzini.
