COSENZA – The training seminar on the theme “Prevention is safety”, which will be held at the Chamber of Labor of Cosenza tomorrow, is aimed at worker safety representatives (RLS) of all categories. April 18 and the next May 9th. The initiative is part of the broad program of fight against deaths at workwhich consists of strikes And mobilisationsbut which, given the dramatic nature of the problem, must also take other forms that aim to strengthen prevention and the culture of safety.

In front of the daily massacre of around 3 deaths per day we continue to ask firmly more investments in safetystrengthening of inspection staff with controls strategically oriented towards real illegalities, containment of cascade procurement with extension of the rules regulating public procurement also to private procurement, combating pirate contracts and to rampant precariousness, an authentic points-based driving licence and policies that push companies to compete on legality and not on profit.

At the same time it is also necessary to work on the level of preventionfrom the trainingfrom the diffusion of the culture of safety among employers and workers and discussions with the supervisory bodies, in order to increase procedures aimed at preventing accidents from happening. With this aim, the training initiative aims to enhance the role of RLS and RLST, to strengthen safety in every workplace.

The works will be introduced by Graziella Secreti, Secretary of Cgil Cosenza, and continued by the designated trainers, Eng. Angelo Barile and Eng. Gianluca Sinfarosa, both Technical Inspectors on health and safety at the Territorial Labor Inspectorate of Cosenza. Doctor Caterina Torichia, Director of the ITL of Cosenza, and Massimiliano Ianni, General Secretary of Cgil Cosenza, will also be present in order to undertake synergistic and collaborative action aimed at the common objective of combating illegality in the local workplaces. .
