The mother of the owner of the “U Spettaculu ri Spettacoli” shop, a well-known shop in Bagheria with a huge following on social media, suffered a mugging. Two individuals tore from her neck a gold necklace that she was wearing in memory of her dead son. The lady was in the car when she was approached by the two thieves. Once she got out of the car she fainted from fear of her. The episode happened yesterday, Monday 29 April, around 12pm in via Vittorio Veneto.
The police intervened and listened to some witnesses and acquired video surveillance images of the area. After the necessary checks in the hospital, the woman was interviewed by the police: she said she had been attacked by a young man with a covered face who pulled her hair with one hand and stole the jewel she had with the other. around her neck, also leaving obvious marks on her skin. Then he fled with an accomplice on a scooter.
The merchant son vented on Facebook: “It is not possible to risk your life for a mugging in 2024. Bagheria is a town of 60 thousand inhabitants, we need more checks by the police. My mother got a big scare and she could have ended up worse,” he said. “These are things that must never be repeated again. There are still muggings in Bagheria, windows are smashed, anything and everything happens. I repeat, more checks are needed”
