The prison group of the parish of S. Francesco al Fopponino invites everyone, on Monday 22 April at 8.45 pm at the Teatro di Gesù Buon Pastore, to the screening of the documentary film “Welcome to prison”.
The director, Michele Rho, will participate.
This evening’s initiative was born from a group of women friends, founded in 2018 in the Parish of St. Francis of Assisi at Fopponino, with the aim of approaching the San Vittore prison to get to know the community of people who live there and to try to support them and accompany them with a plurality of actions and attention.

Prison is a world unknown to most, a world of suffering: there are closed cells, cells with 6 inmates, there are food trolleys that pass by at 11am and 5pm, there is a lack of serious health aid and
legal issues for the many, too many, psychiatric patients, there are Young Adults (prisoners from 18 to 23/24 years old) who have never gone to school, there are fights…
With the presence and service of volunteers, the possibility of new ways of relating grows; there is a smile, there is hope…

Bollate imprisonment. Not a “mercy” tavern. An excellence. A pride. Recommended by the Michelin Guide.

During the evening, with the presence of the director, we will share the vision of this film which takes us inside a prison to overcome our fears and mistrust: the protagonists, in fact, seek a second chance at life through work, they try to change, they seek to turn the page. Work is the future.
