PESCARA – Pescara is the Abruzzo city with the best climate and is in fifth place in the national ranking. This is what emerges from the new edition of the climate index of Il Sole 24 Ore.
The ranking is updated with data provided by 3bmeteo relating to the decade 2013-2023. In second place in Abruzzo is Chieti, seventh in the national ranking; then there are Teramo (35th place) and L’Aquila (48th place).
In the ten years analysed, it emerges, Pescara recorded a temperature increase of one degree, Chieti of 0.06 degrees, Teramo of 0.17 and L’Aquila of 1.83 degrees. Among the data, L’Aquila’s first place stands out in terms of extreme events, which did not occur. Pescara, on the other hand, is third for heat waves, with four exceeding thirty degrees for three consecutive days.
The ranking is used every year in the Quality of Life survey to tell which of the 107 capital cities people live best from a climatic point of view, based on ten parameters that measure the most frequent “good weather” conditions.
The ten indices that make up the final ranking were chosen and processed by the editorial staff of Il Sole 24 Ore and validated by the 3bmeteo team of meteorological experts. At the top of the ranking is Bari, followed by Imperia and Barletta-Andria-Trani. Closing the list are Pavia, Alessandria and Belluno.
