Inside Out 2 is enjoying truly enormous success. The Pixar film, released in all theaters on June 19th, appeals so much to adults and children alike because it presents the various emotions in the mind of the protagonist Riley in a nice but never simple or predictable way. One of the new characters in the animated film directed by Kelsey Mann is Ansia who in the Italian version is voiced by the actress Pilar Leafy who was recently interviewed by FanPage.

Pilar Fogliati’s interview

Pilar Fogliati begins her interview with FanPage by telling how her dubbing adventure in Inside Out 2 began: «They called me for an audition, I was already happy. I’ve always loved dubbing, I had already done something but I had never lent my voice to such an important role. When they chose me they sent me an email saying “We are happy to inform you that you will be our Ansia”, it made me laugh so much. I was happy».

The actress then talked about how innovative Inside Out was in describing emotions and in including a character called “Anxiety”: «It has become commonplace to talk about mental health, but with Inside Out 2 they gave an image, a idea, to anxiety. In the past, our grandparents or great-grandparents, when they had to give an image to emotions, imagined the little angel and the little devil. The Pixar film created new characters that become part of the imagination of children and even of us young people. There is envy, anxiety, anger, joy and all are described as parts of you that have the right to exist, to be loved and accepted. Anxiety was talked about too little seriously. Telling it by entering the mind of a 13 year old girl was revolutionary. Inside Out is a film for everyone.”

Pilar’s words

Finally, Pilar Fogliati concluded by explaining that she too happens to imagine many scenarios in her mind, just like Ansia does: «Yes, it often happens that I am unable to enjoy a beautiful thing that comes to me because I think first of everything that could go bad. Inside Out 2 got the point right, because what does Ansia do in the film? She is always projected forward, she sees problems that don’t yet exist. She gives an incredible message.”
