He had been thinking about his book for a long time: he wanted to tell the adventures of the last and bring out unexpected emotions. As soon as it was published, ‘Utrum’ (Gfe) by Matteo Nerbi (pictured) was a kaleidoscope of successes and confirmations. Numerous presentations in the area and beyond, warm reception on the stories of Voce narrante. The book was loved and appreciated by everyone so much that the jury of the “International Prize for Literary Art – La via dei libri – city of Pontremoli” proposed it for the first prize, in the section ‘Fiction and essays published by Luigi Campolonghi’. “Writing – says Nerbi himself, lawyer and writer – is like a journey on multiple levels: in the most hidden recesses of ourselves, and in a certain sense in my case it was also a painful journey, because my book is introspective and, even if it has no autobiographical connotations, when you dive into those deep waters, you accept the relative risk. But it is also a real, concrete journey, dotted with “opportunities to be read”. I would never have imagined that this journey of mine would have received such an important recognition.
