Aldo Grasso, a global pandemonium – Libero Quotidiano

Archived two of the three episodes of All for onethe concert event of The flight at the Arena di Verona recorded a couple of weeks ago and broadcast by Canale 5, we can say: ad Aldo Grasso I didn’t like the show that aired much.

“On Piero Barone, Ignazio Boschetto And Gianluca Ginoble there are two schools of thought: those who love them and those who hate them”, stated the television critic on Corriere della Sera. And as always, his very severe lines are a sentence, or almost.

“The former exalt their worldwide success and point out that their repertoire includes some of the most beautiful songs that have ever been written in Italy and abroad”, underlining how the voices of the former tenors launched on TV by Antonella Clerici manage to make the covers even preferable to the original songs. Grasso then quotes the detractors, who “talk about «young-old»of singers of «a fake Italy seen from America», of the last representatives of the bel canto cliché”.

Grasso’s criticisms spare no one, not even the co-host Federica Panicucci (“Dressed like a little girl, can you still say that?”). But the criticism of Il Volo was particularly clear: “Personally I would never go to hear one of their concerts, even if I was in America or New Zealand, but this has nothing to do with it”.

In fact, the problem is television: “None of the three are capable of entertaining the public, which is quite serious (but perhaps abroad they are satisfied)”. Also in the crosshairs is one of the excellent guests, Gianna Nannini. The rocker par excellence of Italian music “shared her songs with the warbles of the three tenors, creating a hilarious kitsch effect“.

At least, concludes Grasso, they all got what they wanted: the applause of the Arena (and judging by the ratings and comments on social media, even from the audience at home).
