more Patriot missiles are arriving, the US decision

Two US officials announced it. The system, which comes from Poland, could be deployed on the front line in the coming days

American President Joe Biden approved the deployment of another Patriot missile system to Ukraine. This was stated by senior administration and military officials, quoted by the New York Times.

Biden’s decision came last week after a series of high-level meetings and an internal debate over how to respond to Ukraine’s pressing requests for a strengthened air defenses.

The new Patriot system – the second that the United States sends to Ukraine – will come from Poland. The system could be deployed to front lines in Ukraine in the coming days, U.S. officials said, once it needs maintenance or modifications.

Zelensky: “Every day it rains bombs, we need Patriot systems”

“We need at least seven Patriot systems to be able to protect our cities and urban centers from air attacks and for our people to continue to live normally,” Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky said yesterday in his speech at the international conference on reconstruction of Ukraine. “Every day bombs rain down on the heads of the Ukrainian people. We will witness destruction by missiles and drones until we are able to deprive Russia of the ability to terrorize”, continued the Ukrainian president, according to whom Russia “does not have an interest genuine to sit down and negotiate peace, but we will not allow it to destroy people’s lives with its missiles.”
