The shocking fourth episode of The Boys 4 managed to make us feel empathy even for the fearsome and ruthless Patriotbut one of the most shocking scenes of the series came from the most unlikely character: Sister Sage.
The character played by Susan Heyward and introduced in the new season of the Prime Video TV series has the characteristic of being the most intelligent person on Earth, a superpower that is proving particularly useful for Patriot, given that the villain has hired her to review his strategies and study a plan that can lead him to conquer America in secret but at the same time under everyone’s eyes. And speaking of eyes, as anticipated at the end of episode 3, Sister Sage has only one way to ‘turn off your brain’ and relaxing at the end of a long day at work: giving herself a ‘self-lobotomy’, which makes her stupid and out of control for a few hours before her healing powers take effect, making her the smartest person in the world.
Sage states that if she were stabbed in the heart she would die like anyone else, as she doesn’t have super strength or super endurance, but his super-brain is capable of healing itself so after being lobotomized in a short time he manages to repair himself and make her return ‘normal’: a very close-up at that point shows us the needle entering under Sister Sage’s eye to carry out the lobotomy, and that’s it: Sister Sage can become a sexual toy for Abyss, since she herself authorizes him to ‘do whatever you want with me’.
