Bergamo: Serie A, the schedule next week. Maybe July 4th, but no announcement

The draw for the 2024/25 Serie A calendar should be drawn on Thursday 4 July, in Rome. The official announcement from the Serie A is still missing, but it seems that everything is set for the second half of next week.

This is a very important appointment, because if on the one hand it is true that sooner or later you have to meet them all, it is equally true that, especially before and after the Champions League challenges, having away games or more or less difficult opponents can make the difference.

What is known for now is that Atalanta will play the first two games away from Bergamo. The Gewiss Stadium is being completed and will be ready by August 31, which means that the opening day (August 17-18) and the following day (August 24-25) will be scheduled away from Bergamo. It remains to be seen in which stadium, given that Atalanta is not the only one having some problems with the facility: in the shadow of Città Alta there are works to be completed, but in Florence, just to give an example, the situation is evolving and then there are Como and Venice who will play away from their cities.

As for the Champions League, the dates of the group in “championship” format have already been set. After the draw in Monte Carlo on August 29, the first round is scheduled for September 17-18, then it will be played on October 1-2, again on October 22-23 and the fourth day, or the halfway point, on November 5-6. With the matches of November 26-27 (5th day), December 10-11 (6th day), January 21-22 (7th day) and January 29 (8th day) this phase will end before the play-offs on February 11-12 and 18-19.
