Furthermore, the Federal Council approved the changes proposed by the Assembly of the Professional Women’s Serie A and the Assembly of the Women’s Serie B on the reform of the women’s championships. Starting from the 2025-26 season, the top division will consist of 12 teams while the B division will have 14 clubs.

Here are the main new features:
WOMEN’S SERIES A 2024-25 (starts 31 August): Only the last placed team will be directly relegated to Serie B.
WOMEN’S SERIES B 2024-25 (starting 1 September): the top three ranked teams will be promoted to the 2025-26 Serie A championship. The bottom three ranked teams will be relegated to the 2025-26 Serie C championship.

Therefore, the play-off between the second-to-last team in the Serie A Salvation Pool and the second-placed team in Serie B will not be played.

Therefore, starting from the 2025-26 season, the Women’s Serie A roster will consist of a total of 12 teams, and the Women’s Serie B roster will consist of 14 teams.
