Four days dedicated to technique, training, fun and friendship. The event ended today traditional provincial camping dedicated to over 800 young firefighter students. The event concluded with the spectacular maneuvers proposals from all thirteen district unions of Trentino, as well as from groups coming from Lombardy and Val d’Aosta. The meeting, now a fixed event in Trentino, is reserved for girls and boys aged between 10 and 18 who dream of becoming a firefighter. The outcome of the event – organized by the Vallagarina district union – is extremely positive, as demonstrated by very respectable numbers: 815 students, patiently followed by 371 instructors and chaperones. This morning was the Palù Park to host the maneuvers of the students, who tried their hand at Italian stairs, braced stairs, fan staircases, hoses, forest fire simulations, road accidents, people search and much more, showcasing skill, coordination, technique and team spirit, essential qualities for a firefighter.
The inspector of the Vallagarina district union, Alessandro Adami, took stock of the campsite, recalling the peculiarities that characterized it and which can be summarized in the attention to the environment (banned plastic tableware), in giving of oneself (an aspect underlined by the collaboration with the Avis blood donors) and in building real relationships (the use of cell phones is prohibited). Objectives which – he forcefully highlighted – have been largely achieved. On the same wavelength the President of the Federation of Volunteer Firefighters of Trentino, Luigi Maturiwho highlighted the impeccable organization of the union led by Adami with the fundamental support of deputy Massimo Ticò and the commander of the Brentonico corps Gennaro Simonetti, and then addressed the students who were protagonists of the camp: «You have shown that you are almost gods professionals, continue on this path.”
Giulia Zanotelli, provincial councilor agriculture, promotion of Trentino products, environment, hydrogeological defense and local authorities, recalling the presence of groups from outside the province, he underlined how volunteering has no borders and that it has the power to bring people together and unite. “And the provincial camp – he added – is proof of this”.
Also bringing their greetings Vice Presidents of the Federation Corrado Asson and Daniele Postal, the provincial director of the Fire Service Ilenia Lazzeri, the mayor of Brentonico Dante Dossi and Don Daniele Laghi.
