The Carabinieri and Spesal technicians continued to carry out surveys all night in the building on Via Piave, in Fasano, where 25-year-old Clelia Ditano died last night after falling into the elevator shaft from a height of over 10 meters. In addition to the parents, who were already interviewed a few hours after the accident, the Carabinieri acquired the first technical data relating to the elevator, including from the managers of the maintenance company. The elevator was seized in order to carry out all the necessary investigations to clarify whether a sudden technical failure occurred and the reason for the failure to activate the safety system.

The investigation is coordinated by the public prosecutor Giuseppe De Nozza, who could soon assign the task of performing an autopsy on the body of the 25-year-old. The investigation is to reconstruct the last moments of life of Clelia Ditano who, on the night between Sunday and Monday, after going up to the house to leave her bag and other personal effects, wanted to go back down to the ground floor but fell into the void, as the elevator cabin was not present at that moment on the fourth floor as she believed.
