Was a “young, good boy, loved and known by everyone in Foggia”also because of his work, Andrea Cacace, the 23-year-old victim of a terrible accident that occurred last March 23 in via Cerignola, near the Atleti hotel.

The father Antonio writes to the editorial staff of FoggiaToday. He asks that his letter be published so as to remember his son Andrea for the person he was and not let his be just one of the many names of the victims of the road.

“Before he started working as a truck driver, he helped the elderly in need of oxygen”tells.

“He was a sunny boy, full of life, always smiling. Anyone who knew him can testify to my words”.

Remember that tragic March 23. “My son, Andrea, was traveling at 70km/h in his lane and was killed instantly without even being able to say goodbye.”

He hopes that justice will take its course and that this can protect other children, and issues a warning: “Whoever drives a car must remember that he has a weapon in his hands, often worse than a gun.”

He asks with his letter to return the “right attention” to Andrea, to who he was and what he did, and not just to the news story.

“Behind this news – he writes – there are kids and families whose lives have changed from one day to the next, forever.”

He entrusts to a letter the pain and the memory that was not paid to him in Foggia.

“My son was remembered in Germany, England and America but not in his city, the city he loved and where he wanted to build his future. Our family was condemned to eternal suffering, anyone who has children can understand.”

The accident

Andrea was driving his motorbike towards Foggia when he was hit by a car coming from the opposite direction and turning left, probably to reach the home of some friends.

The young man was unable to avoid the fatal impact.

The driver and passengers of the car ended up in the emergency room with minor injuries. The man driving, however, in a clear state of agitation, allegedly attacked a resuscitation doctor, first slapped and then hit by a violent headbutt.
