Filippo Turetta’s obsession with his ex Giulia Cecchettin is evident in a worrying number: that of the messages sent to the young woman and her smartphone during the last two years, up until the day of the murder. As can be seen from the investigation documents, from January 2022 to the day of the femicide, the boy sent her 225,720 messages (an average of over 300 per day). And in the wake of the crime, the mailings had increased. In the messages, Giulia begs to be left alone. And now, according to what was reconstructed by Corriere della Serastalking could be one of the aggravating circumstances contested by the prosecutors. November 7 is emblematic when Turetta starts sending her voice messages in the early morning, complaining about her lack of goodnight. Giulia is exasperated: «You behave like a psychopath. Sometimes you scare me. Maybe you come looking for me later too. But I want to be able to stay calm. You know, I thought: this guy is a bit sick, I should take away his goodnight».
Premeditation and that list with the murder details
Not only that, there is a significant detail, which dates back to the same day. While the two argued for several hours, complete with apologies from him, Turetta wrote a note on her cell phone at 9.51pm. A sort of list that could reveal how the murder of Giulia was largely premeditated: «Geographic map, large backpack, knives, full tank of petrol, money bags, rubbish bags, tying ankles below and above the knees, blocking car doors, tape adhesive”. The next day, November 8, Turetta discovers that Giulia is in contact with a boy from Reggio Emilia. She goes online and downloads spy apps, tries to understand his followers on Instagram. Giulia replies bluntly: “You’re sick.” And then she adds: «A couple of times you showed up where I was. You spy on me. But there are things I want to keep to myself, because it scares me what you might do with that information.” And he replies, defending himself: «I don’t control, I just wanted a goodnight before sleeping. We love each other, we are close, we are two potatoes. How can you even think about starting to date another guy, what a ridiculous person are you? You risk writing goodnight to someone else. Something very violent towards me.”
