For lovers of sci-fi horror and high-tension films, the wait is finally over. A Quiet Place-Day 1 was released in Italian cinemas on 27 June 2024 and promises to keep all viewers glued to their seats. The film, written and directed by Michael Sarnoski, is the prequel to the famous film A Quiet Place (2018) and third film in the series A Quiet Place. The first two were directed by John Krasinski.
The plot
A normal day in New York is suddenly turned upside down by the arrival of terrible alien creatures, bloodthirsty and equipped with ultrasonic hearing, with which they hunt human beings. The only way to survive their fury is to remain completely silent. A Quiet Place – Day 1therefore, is an apocalyptic sci-fi with horror features, similar in approach to the two previous films.

Production and direction
Unlike the two previous films whose direction was entrusted to John Krasinski, this time the direction is by Michael Sarnoski, an American filmmaker who won over audiences and critics with his debut film Pig with Nicolas Cage as the protagonist. However, Krasinski remains co-author of the story and among the producers of the film together with Michael Bay, Andrew Form and Brad Fuller. The screenplay, however, is always handled by Michael Sarnoski. The producers of the film are Paramount Pictures, Platinum Dunes and Sunday Night, while the Italian distribution is by Eagle Pictures.
The cast
Actress Lupita Nyong’o (Oscar winner for best supporting actress in 2014 for the film 12 Years a Slave). Also in the cast is Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) as Eric, Alex Wolff, Djimon Hounsou and Denis O’Hare.
