CMF Phone (1), technical data and prices for India leaked

Less than 24 hours after the official teasers, much more substantial information has been leaked about the first smartphone from Nothing’s budget line, the CMF Phone (1). We also have the potential prices, at least relative to India; all the details come from a well-reputed leaker, who has been on the scene for several years now.

The device will hover around the threshold of 200 euros (or rather: the equivalent of 200 euros in India, difficult to predict how these prices will translate for the European/Italian market), and will revolve around the hardware platform based on MediaTek Dimensity 7300 with 8 or 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage. More or less all of this had already been anticipated or predicted, the real piece that was missing so far was related to the camera.

Apparently Carl Pei’s startup intends to adopt an approach that aims at practicality and concreteness: we will have a single camera on the back, with a 50 MP sensor. No telephoto or ultra-wide angle, you will have to settle for an auxiliary depth sensor (resolution not known, but it is worth pointing out that they are usually 2 MP). On the front we will instead have a 16 MP unit.

Finally, the confirmation that the device will have a very welcome AMOLED display (with an integrated fingerprint scanner) and expandable memory via microSD (max 2 TB). Let’s summarize all the information schematically:

  • 6.67″ AMOLED display, FHD+ 1080p, 120 Hz
  • MediaTek Dimensity 7300 SoC
  • 8 or 6 GB of RAM
  • 128 GB of storage, expandable via microSD (max 2 TB)
  • Cameras:
    • Rear main: 50 MP
    • Rear auxiliary (depth)
    • Front: 16 MP
  • 5,000 mAh battery, fast charging max 33 W
  • OS: Android 14
  • Prices: 15,999 and 17,999 Indian rupees (at the exchange rate approximately 179 and 201 euros)
