MARTINSICURO – The Organ Review Abruzzo Organ Festival 2024 continues with its events in Martinsicuro with an exceptional guest, il M° Thorsten Alhrich, German organist at the prestigious Church of the saints Cosmas and Damiani in Stade, where Vincent Lübeck performedcomposer and organist who became the titular organ player of the same church in 1675. Lübeck is known as one of the fathers of Bach’s music.

Alhrich will perform at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, next July 5th at 9:00 pm.

He M° Thorsten Alhrich born in Wilhelmshaven in Germany. He studied sacred music and piano at the University of Music and Theatre in Hamburg with Pieter van Dijk e Menno van Delft in his career he has held various positions: as an organist: assistant to the musical director at the St. Petri in Hamburg, from 2007 to 2014 he was musical director of the Michaeliskirche in Kaltenkirchen, music director at the St. Cyprian and Cornelius a Ganderkesee“. Continues Concept of Francisone of the organizers and promoters of the organ festival “As an organist and harpsichordist he has given concerts in Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Poland.

In 2016 he recorded a CD with organ works by Buxtehude, Scheidemann, Leyding, Böhm, Praetorius and Lübeck. In 2021/22 he performed all the keyboard works of Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck in a cycle of 8 concerts. He is a member of numerous juries and has been responsible for several concert and teaching projects on the historical organ scene in Northwest Germany.

Since March 2024 he has been musical director at St. Cosmae et Damiani in Stade, where the “Schnitger” organ from 1675 is located”.

The Bevilacqua Monumental Organ of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, through the masterful performances of Maestro Thorsten Alhrich, will offer listeners a musical journey with sublime melodies.
