Italy returns home after a heavy defeat against Switzerland, marking the end of the Azzurri’s journey at the European Championships.
The Azzurri, fresh from their victory at the 2021 European Championship, suffered a devastating defeat against Switzerland, who dominated the match both physically and tactically. After struggling to get through the group, Spalletti’s team hoped to find a breakthrough against the Swiss, but instead faced a total collapse. Italy found themselves in difficulty throughout the match, showing serious physical, tactical and psychological shortcomings.
The first half was particularly embarrassing for the Azzurriwho closed with only one shot in their favor compared to Switzerland’s ten.
