Agriculture and development, the Democratic Party organizes a meeting

Manciano (Grosseto). Satisfaction with the success of the event on agriculture and development of the Maremma that the Manciano Democratic Party helped to organize and which took place on 22 June.

The Democratic Party of Manciano, represented by the municipal councilor Bertinelliby the club secretary Bonemei and by the secretary of the Municipal Union of the Democratic Party Giomarelliaware of the hardships that the agricultural sector is going through, declares “available to work with institutions to contribute to the economic recovery of this important production area”.

“The economic recovery must pass through the restructuring of the agri-food chain, with an inclusive virtuous process, from the small farmer to the large cooperatives – explains Giomarelli. In Grosseto there is a Pd forum coordinated by Valter Nunziatini, former director of the Tuscany Region, and we will start from here to organize political activity also in the territories”.

The event saw the qualified participation of the major operators in the sector and associations, as well as the presence of the Honorable Marco Simiani and the regional councilor Leonardo Marras.

“We will fight to face threats such as wolf predation, for which we want to remember the bill presented by our parliamentarian Marco Simiani – continues Giomarelliwhich provides for the possibility of killing predators in the event of an unjustified attack”.

“The Democratic Party will fight to meet the requests made by the production sector in reducing energy costs through the targeted reduction of VAT – we read in a note from the Manciano Democratic Party -. The Democratic Party is aware of the serious problem of depopulation in the area and the lack of young people dedicated to agriculture. The solutions are to be found in a new production model that also sees agricultural mechanization and computerization as the driving factor for the qualitative improvement of production. In the new agriculture 4.0, both computerization and the sharing of data between the various operators through IT platforms and synergies between the Region and the Municipalities will be important”.

“Another topic that the Democratic Party will discuss concerns the installation of photovoltaic systems on agricultural land. Recent experiences demonstrate how relevant the topic is and how it constitutes a real threat to the sector. In fact, political action is necessary to ensure that these plants are installed on non-agricultural land. The producer must be defended as he alone cannot cope with the increasingly pressing requests from large energy groups – ends the statement -. Finally, regarding the water crisis and the construction of a reservoir, which has very high construction costs, the Region has declared itself willing to finance its design. In fact, government indications provide that the construction of the work can be financed with European funds only in the presence of a definitive or executive design.
