COPPARO and TRESIGNANA

Ballot elections underway in the two towns of the province where the new mayor has not yet been chosen. At the stroke of 7pm the turnout recorded in Copparo was 34.44% with 4,666 voters, while in Tresignana it was 43.77% with 2,521 voters. These are the first numbers that came out in the penultimate survey from the polling stations (the last one was at 11 pm) in the two Municipalities where, at 7 am yesterday, the polls opened for the run-off round from which the names of the mayors will emerge who will guide them for the next five years. Running for the tricolor band in Copparo are the outgoing mayor Fabrizio Pagnoni, supported by the united centre-right (Fratelli d’Italia, Forza Italia, Lega) and by the United for Copparo list, and Enrico Bassi, candidate of the coalition formed by the Democratic Party, 5 Star Movement and Rebirth list. They are the ones who have won the possibility of playing the ‘second half’ of the electoral match, following the results obtained in the first round: Pagnoni had obtained 47.27% of the preferences (3,848 votes), while Enrico Bassi 41.01% (with 3,338 preferences). A total of 13,548 voters are called to cast their votes at the twenty-two polling stations in Copparese, located between the capital and the hamlets. Yesterday’s 12pm survey showed a turnout of 16.73% (2,266 voters), while at 7pm it rose to 34.44% for a total of 4,666 voters. In the first round the overall turnout stood at 61.96% (8,394 voters).

‘Play-off’ also underway in the Municipality of Tresignana, where running for the office of mayor are the first outgoing citizen Laura Perelli supported by the Tresignana Prima di Tutto list, and Mirko Perelli, candidate supported by the Tresignana Cambia list. An unprecedented run-off for Tresignana (municipality with under 15 thousand inhabitants), which became necessary following the surprising result of the first round which saw the two contenders gain the same number of preferences: 1,717, i.e. 48.52%. A total of 5,759 citizens were called to vote: yesterday at 12pm the turnout was 22.73% (1,309 voters); at 7pm, as mentioned, the turnout rose to 43.77% with 2,521 voters. In the first round the turnout was 63.54%, with 3,659 of those entitled to vote at the eight polling stations distributed between the towns of Tresigallo and Formignana. Today from 7am to 3pm the polling stations will reopen in both Municipalities for the last hours of voting, and immediately afterwards the counting operations will begin which, obviously, will be followed in eager anticipation by the interested mayoral candidates and by their candidate councilors and supporters who have them helped and followed during these weeks of the electoral campaign, including meetings in the area and initiatives.
